Task Management
 
Task management is a tool for managers as well as other team members for creating tasks and other checklist items. This module helps in creating and assigning general as well as project related tasks. It includes all the features such as creating tasks, assigning tasks to other users, sending task via email, reviewing task, approving task etc.

Create General Task/ Project Related Task:
Allows users to perform the following function:
  • Create general task as well project related task.
  • Prioritizing a Task: Allows users to set the priority of the task to one of the following:
  • Low
  • Medium (default)
  • High
  • Critical

    By Default, system sets the task priority to medium. User can change it.
  • Ignore Holidays: Allows users to designate holidays as working days.

    Assign User:
    Allows you to assign task to members of project team as well as members outside the project team.
    User can assign a task to more than one team member.
    Allows users to assign memebrs with the following information:
  • Estimated Completion Date.
  • Comments(if any).

    Task List:
    There are 2 task list views available in the system.
  • Summary View:Allows users to view list of tasks along with the associated members and their status in a tabular format.
  • Detailed View: Allows users to view list of tasks along with the associated members, their work percentage, number of attachments and the recent updated status of the task. This view displays the task description as well as the latest task status.

    Advanced filters providing drill down capability:
  • Filters: Summary view and Detail view allow users to filter the tasks based on the following parameters:
  • Project:Filter the task based on the project name.
  • Created By:Filter the task by the user who created the task.
  • Assigned To: Filter the task by the user who is assigned to the task.
  • Status: Filter the task by the status of the task, such as open, closed, on Hold.
  • Order By:  Users can order the results by Last updated date and Owner.
  • Legends: Provides the description of all icons used on the screen.
  • Need attention: Allows users to view list of associated tasks that need follow-up.
  • Team Table: Displays name and status of team members along with their current work status.
  • Paging: Displays page numbers in case the number of tasks increases. This helps users to view large number of tasks page wise.
  • Link to Task Status Details: Allows users to view the status details of task from task list.

    Task Status History:
    Allows users to view the status history of a task. The history is organized with the latest status coming on top users can also perform the following functions from this screen:
  • Update Status: Allows users to update following status of the task:
  • Assign User
  • Close Task
  • Reopen Task
  • Put Task on Hold
  • Update Wrk Percentage of the Task
  • Create Custom Status
  • Edit Task Description
  • Edit Task Dates
  • Update Task Priority to Critical
  • Edit Task Description
  • Change Completion Dates
    System keeps track of each status and user can view status details of a task.
  • Add on Features:
  • Attach File:Allows users to attach unlimited files. The system provides Check In/Check Out facility for the attachments while user is viewing status details of the task.
  • Send Email: Allows users to send Email to associated members.
  • Link to Update Status: Allows users to update the status of task while viewing status details of a task from task list.
  • Easy Navigation: Allows navigation using BreadCrumb control (PL), Control Tabs and Links.
  • Security: Ensures only authorized users can access the tasks.
